Here at musiceducationzone, we're celebrating!
January 2010 saw the launch of a new web-based partnership between the Federation of Music Services, Zone New Media and Think Again Media. FMSbuzz - Zone's exciting new campaign website for the Federation of Music Services - was launched at the FMS 'Burning Issues' conference on Friday 29 January.
February saw the launch - at musiclearninglive!2010 - of zone magazine online. Known for its incisive features and dynamic editorial, the new version of zone will be published every other month in a stylish, easy-to-read virtual format.
The first issue includes:
Children from Temple Primary School with Head of Expressive Arts, Rachel d'Ardis, at musiclearninglive!2010
Meanwhile, over 400 delegates, speakers and performers from all over the world met up at musiclearninglive!2010 at Manchester's Royal Northern College of Music on 25 and 26 February. With concerts from Ripon Cathedral Choir and Tim Garland's Storms/Nocturnes Trio, sessions on everything from songwriting to self-presentation and plenty of provocative discussion led by key decision-makers, the conference was a musical - and pedagogical - feast.
So, what with our new partnership with the FMS, our spanking new online magazine and a successful and stimulating musiclearninglive!2010, we hope you'll agree we've plenty of cause to celebrate. Now where's that champagne?!
